Charities Exhibition opens this Saturday



Saturday 15th September 2007 - 11am - 4pm.

The Pitt Studio & Gallery presents a trio of charities - Please come along and support us

Billy Gill has donated a pastel drawing for raffle to raise money for the Waterloo Schools charity. Ruth Pritchett will be offering commissions in children’s portraiture to raise money for Acorns Hospice. 20 PhotoVoice photographs are for sale to raise money for the PhotoVoice projects. www.photovoice.org - PhotoVoice is a multi-award winning London based charity that brings about positive social change for marginalised and minority communities by providing photographic training with which participants can advocate, express themselves and generate income. To date PhotoVoice has worked across four continents, in partnership with local and international organisations, training over 1000 beneficiaries including refugees, HIV positive women and teenagers, sex workers, street and working children, disabled youth and adults with mental health needs.
Images and words from PhotoVoice groups are exhibited and disseminated through the web, newsletters, mainstream media, development media, events and exhibitions, in order to further awareness, challenge perceptions and affect policy.
